Where our words come together in a daily email.

Static vs Stable

Static resists reality. Stability responds to it.

A static routine is brushing my teeth, checking my phone, drinking the same coffee, rushing out the door. Every day, no matter what. It’s rigid. If something unexpected happens, it breaks. The routine resists change, even when change is needed.

A stable routine still includes brushing my teeth and drinking coffee, but it adjusts. There’s time to reflect, respond, or shift depending on the current conditions. It maintains rhythm without clinging to rigidity.

Static is stuck. Stability is earned.

When we confuse the two for one or the other, we mistake not moving for being grounded and vice versa.

Where in your life are you calling something stable that’s actually static?
