Coffee may be for closers, but wishes are for birthday candles.
I have found it effective to accept the truth as it is. Wishing I was tall and good-looking doesn’t make me a bad person, but it does lead to misery. Accepting that I am 5′ 7″ and bald doesn’t make me a good person, but it does lead to happiness.
What never ceases to amaze me is that the foundation of happiness is the acceptance of the truth.
A wish without a candle is a form of push. When I push a wish, which is a false narrative, I’m lying.
If I don’t want to be miserable, I have to avoid pushing a false narrative and choose to pull in the truth.
Are you pushing a wish when you would be much happier to pull the truth?
