Changing Direction Changes Everything

My calendar is full.

Fuller than I want.

The work is real.

The effort is there.

I’m doing things.

Responding.

Building.

Producing.

To the outside, it may look like movement.

Inside, it mostly feels scattered.

Busy doesn’t usually feel purposeful.

Usually too busy to notice.

I can be active without being aligned.

It’s possible to work hard and still miss the point.

When I don’t know the difference I exist to make,

everything becomes the same.

All opportunities pull me.

Requests direct me.

Urgency defines me.

Without direction, motion decides for me.

It’s expensive.

My energy gets spent.

Not invested.

When I’m clear on what I exist to move in the world,

decisions compress.

Some things become obvious to ignore.

Some things become impossible to ignore.

Same actions feel different.

Lighter.

More precise.

Direction makes the work coherent.

It’s about doing what aligns.

The difference I exist to make is a filter.

Without it, I participate in everything.

With it, I participate on purpose, on purpose.

Direction turns effort into intentional impact.
