The lane is gone.
I used to stay in my lane.
Do my part.
Protect my scope.
Let others handle theirs.
It felt efficient.
It created gaps.
Some small ones.
Some huge ones.
Things fell between the lanes.
Or stalled at the edges.
Now the lanes don’t hold.
The work crosses them constantly.
Problems don’t respect boundaries.
Neither does progress.
At first, it feels messy.
Undefined.
Like no one owns anything.
Something else is happening.
Ownership is shifting.
From territory
to movement.
I’m not here to protect a lane.
I’m here to help the system move well.
The lane is gone.
We’re left with contribution.
