I see open doors as an opportunity.
A request.
A new direction.
Something interesting I could step into.
Open feels possible.
Possible feels available.
Available starts to feel like it might be mine.
That is where I get confused.
I treat access like assignment.
I tell myself the door would not be open
if I were not meant to walk through it.
That story has taken me into a lot of rooms
I did not need to enter.
A better question:
Is this indicated?
That question asks me to orient before I move.
To notice the difference between available and mine.
An open door is an opening.
It is not always an invitation.
