I have lost a lot of time to ‘why’.
Why did this happen?
Why am I like this?
Why does this matter?
Why is this so hard?
Those questions make me feel deep.
They feel like I am trying to understand.
I am trying to solve.
Solve my misunderstanding.
‘Why’ can help me name my meaning.
It can feel like certainty.
Certainty feels like truth.
It is my version of the truth.
That’s where I get stuck.
I want ‘why’ to do more than it can do.
I want it to explain the whole thing.
Settle the whole thing.
A better question that helps me:
What am I responsible for?
‘Why’ matters.
For ‘why’ to be useful to me,
it requires my humility.
Why only has one problem.
I came up with it.
