I thought we’d made
progress.
Secured safety.
Scaled comfort.
I called it evolution.
It was disconnection.
I didn’t realize
that outsourcing survival
meant detaching from
the system
that made it matter.
I stopped building tribes.
Started building estates.
An estate is system.
A system without a soul.
It is infrastructure.
Infrastructure without spirit.
I chased what was scalable.
Overlooking what was sacred.
more resources than I had
imagination to use.
Like having technology
capable of space-travel
and using it to scroll,
or to take pictures of my food.
The loop of resources
without reverence.
Scale without soul.
Am I designing to protect
or connect?
